About CuteCatsHQ

CuteCatsHQ is a practical guide for cat owners: plain-language answers about care, health, behavior and breeds, plus free tools that do the math for you.

Who runs the site

CuteCatsHQ is written and run by Max, who has lived with cats for about thirty years. That experience shapes what gets covered and how: the questions that come up when a new kitten arrives, when two cats don't get along, or when an older cat starts to slow down.

Max is a cat owner, not a veterinarian. When an article covers health, it is checked against published veterinary sources, which are listed at the bottom of the article, and it tells you when to call your vet.

What you'll find here

How the content is made

Every guide starts from the questions cat owners actually ask, is checked against the sources it cites, and is updated when the guidance changes. The full process, including how we handle product recommendations, images and corrections, is in the editorial policy.

A little history

CuteCatsHQ has been online since 2013. It began as a cat photo blog; today it focuses on practical guides and tools that help you look after the cat in front of you.

If your cat needs help right now

This site can't examine your cat. If your cat is having trouble breathing, can't urinate, has collapsed, or may have eaten something poisonous, contact your veterinarian or an emergency clinic immediately. In the US, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is available 24/7 at (888) 426-4435 (a consultation fee may apply).
