How to Make a Cat Meme

Making a cat meme with this free generator takes about a minute:

1. Pick a photo. Choose one of the rights-reviewed CuteCatsHQ templates or upload your own cat straight from your phone.
2. Add your caption. Type the top and bottom text — keep it short and punchy.
3. Style it. Adjust the font, size, and position until it reads clearly over the image.
4. Download or share. Save the finished meme to your device and post it anywhere.

No account, no watermark, no limit.

Tips for a Cat Meme That Actually Gets Shared

• Lead with the photo. The best cat memes start with a face doing something that already looks human — a raised "fist," a smug smirk, a wide-eyed "wow." Caption to the picture, not the other way around.
• Keep the text to a glance. If someone has to stop and read, you've lost them. A few words top and bottom is plenty.
• Make it relatable. The memes that travel are the ones where people see themselves — Monday mornings, snack time, ignoring responsibilities.
• Use high contrast text. White text with a dark outline reads on almost any photo; that's why it's the meme standard.
