I thought I was doing something nice for Tifa when I brought home that little catnip ball. How wrong I was. The moment that herbal scent hit her nose, my sweet tabby transformed into a hissing, possessive little gremlin. She now guards that ball like it’s the last treat on Earth, batting away my hand with surprising ferocity whenever I dare approach.

This whole experience has taught me an important lesson about cat psychology. When a feline finds something they truly love, whether it’s catnip, a cardboard box, or that one sunbeam on the floor, they will defend it with their entire being.
