I Let My Indoor Cat Outside for the First Time in Years. She Was Not Amused.
After years of cozy indoor living, I decided it was time for my cautious cat to experience the great outdoors. I imagined her leaping with joy, whiskers twitching at the scent of fresh grass. Instead, she froze at the threshold, ears flattened, as if the backyard was an alien planet. Her tail puffed up, and she shot me a look of utter betrayal before retreating to the safety of the couch.
Cats, as it turns out, are creatures of habit. What I thought would be a grand adventure was met with skepticism and disdain. She spent the rest of the day glaring at me from her favorite sunspot, clearly unimpressed by my attempt to broaden her horizons. Some cats are just born homebodies, and that’s perfectly okay.
