As I proudly announced my accomplishment, he simply blinked slowly, stretched, and went back to licking his paw. No tail flicks of congratulations, no purrs of approval. Just classic cat indifference.

In Cheddar’s world, my law degree ranks far below his afternoon nap schedule and the precise timing of his dinner. While I was expecting at least a polite meow of acknowledgment, he reminded me that in the hierarchy of household importance, cats reign supreme.
