My Backyard Cat. We Call Her Lord Mittens

Lord Mittens, The Backyard Royalty
In our sun-dappled backyard reigns a feline sovereign we lovingly call Lord Mittens. With her luxurious coat and dignified whiskers, she surveys her domain like the true aristocrat she is. Every afternoon brings new adventures, whether she’s stalking fallen leaves or lounging atop the garden wall like a tiny lioness surveying the savanna. Her emerald eyes miss nothing, yet she graciously tolerates our human admiration.
Lord Mittens has perfected the art of blending regal poise with kittenish mischief. One moment she’s striking poses worthy of a cat food commercial, the next she’s rolling in the dirt with utter abandon. We’ve learned to keep our camera ready for her spontaneous performances. This beautiful stray turned backyard empress reminds us daily why cats have worshipped status in ancient cultures. Her favorite spot remains the warm patio stones where she holds court, accepting tribute in the form of chin scratches and the occasional tuna treat.
