This sweet soul has never experienced the outdoors, yet now faces the vast wilderness where bears, wolves, and other predators constantly roam. As a Buddhist, I’m struggling to maintain my calm while imagining my vulnerable companion in this dangerous environment.

Our native village in Alaska is a place of breathtaking beauty but also very real dangers for a small domestic cat. The food chain here doesn’t favor feline explorers, especially ones unfamiliar with outdoor survival. I’m reaching out to neighbors and local networks, hoping someone spots my furry family member. Every moment apart feels like an eternity, testing both my spiritual practice and my deepest fears as a pet parent.
