My Kitty Melted in Sydneys 40 C Weather Today

Bella’s Big Meltdown in Sydney Heat

Today Sydney hit a blistering 40°C, and my sweet tabby Bella became one with the floor. She sprawled out like a liquid puddle of fur, seeking relief from the heatwave on our cool tiles. Her dramatic meltdown was equal parts adorable and concerning, a clear sign even indoor cats struggle during extreme weather.

This experience reminded me how vital it is to protect our feline companions from summer dangers. Always provide fresh water, shade, and cooling surfaces when temperatures soar. Bella eventually revived when the evening sea breeze arrived, but her midday pancake pose serves as an important lesson about pet care in Australian summers.
